Austin's first trip to Disneyland on January 15, 2009, it was 95 degrees!!!

He was melting outdoors so we spend most of the day doing indoor activities. I was pretty excited to find that they do have a number of cool indoor places to avoid the heat. This is the same kid just one hour later indoors.

His swallowing problem doesn't allow him to guzzle down water or a juice box to hydrate. Of course we keep the water going with his G-tube, but that doesn't cool him down much.
Our trip to California Adventure last month went about the same in terms of his heat intolerance. It was over 90 degrees and he was melting, even in the shade. So more indoor activities.

Well today his cooling vest arrived just in time for Memorial Day weekend! I am hoping this is answer to our prayers and he will finally be able to enjoy the outdoors with the rest of us.

Here he is signing "cold" & playing outside it was 83 degrees today!!!

Austin is 31inches & 25lbs, I bought him the Small size and as you can see it fits PERFECT!! He won't be able to use it next year, but it was money well spent.
How does it work?
You just take the vest toss it in the plastic baggie it comes packaged in, add about 8-12 ounces of water. Let it soak for 15 minutes to absorb the water.

Just wring out any excess droplets and then it is ready to wear. When it is not being worn it can be dry and stored in the bag until the next use. Cool!!!
Thanks for peeking,

How fun! We have Disney passes too, and we try to go once a month. My 3 year old loves it!
Oh, your little trooper is just adorable. I'm glad you were able to find that vest for him. I'm sure it will make the hot days more tolerable for him!!
