The King & I

According to my niece Sophia, and I quote, "Austin is the King!" This is what she chanted, quite loudly, as she pranced around the living room tambourine in hand. I do believe Austin is quite aware that he is the King of this house, especially when Sophia is here. I guess this was to be expected as the theme for his baby shower was 'The Little Prince', he has since been upgraded.

Yesterday, despite the display of admiration from Sophie, the King was not happy in his Kingdom. It was an all day whine festival and frankly I had other plans. But as happens quite often when the King is grumpy, my plans got laid aside. The sooner I realize I am just his humble subject, Mommy, the easier things go. From the looks of things he had every right to be upset (another story), but I do wish I could have gone to my dinner last night. I missed the Year-End Parent Appreciation Dinner at The John Tracy Clinic. Ah well, there is always next year. Yesterday it was decreed that I stay home and pay homage.
