In other PMV related news, Austin met a feeding milestone recently. This is going to sound crazy to most of you...but, Austin learned to blow. As in pucker his lips and push air out! I know that probably isn't listed on your Ped's list of "Milestones", but it is a BIG deal here. He is getting air and moving it out through his mouth intentionally.
One day as we started his Occupational (Feeding) Therapy session I was thinking of talking to 'T' about maybe laying off "food & feeding" and focus on some fun things. More specifically, I want Austin to be able to blow the candle on his next birthday cake. Silly, yes I know, as he probably won't EAT the cake...but I still want him to do it.
Well lo and behold that afternoon, before we had a chance to discuss it, he blew out his Sweet Potatoes! After we got over our shock we halted the feeding. We took a break from food and brought out the whistles & pinwheels to practice more blowing. Fun!! What made the difference? The Passy-Muir Valve. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that valve!

As you can see, he has mastered walking and is working hard at running...and crashing into things. I am considering having him wear his bike helmet indoors (just kidding, well kinda, sorta kidding).
Thanks for peeking,

That's so great about him blowing! Boy can I appreciate that! We're still working on that with Harlie. One day I'll get to post the same thing! But it doesn't look like she'll get to blow out her 3rd birthday candles. We still have 12 days. Miracles can happen, right?
And that is totally awesome about him wearing his PMV so much! Still working on that here, too.
Austin's doing so great! Keep up the great work! Oh, and I fixed your link on my page and it works now. Thanks! And I answered your question in the comments, just in case you didn't see it.
Where are you at in LA? Maybe we can get together sometime? We will be here until Oct 2nd. my e mail is makenziesmiracle@comcast.net. let me know! I would love to meet you guys!
