Mission Impossible!

I was on a mission today at Children's Hospital. It was three-fold: deliver Austin to Cardiology for his Echo, book his Sleep Study and finally, get that darn Nursing paperwork SIGNED & FAXED by Dr. Pulmo.

So my first stop was to stalk the Pulmonary Clinic.  After much discussion, with many office workers I was able to get my hot little hands on the two things I needed from them.  I was able to get more action, in person, in 15 minutes than I had been able to do over the phone and via email for a week. That irks me. How difficult was that? Really all they did was open the chart, look at the computer and BAM! He now has Sleep Study scheduled for mid-December and the paperwork is signed & faxed to the new agency. Mission Accomplished.

Then we moved onto Cardiology. They said the appointment would last 45 minutes and asked if I had a portable DVD for him to watch so he would be still. I did not. I borrowed one.

It worked! He was so engrossed in his Classical Baby The Art Show DVD that he barely noticed the leads and the goopy probe being scanned across his body. Mission Accomplished.

What can I say except, this kid is a professional patient!

Everyone was amazed at how quickly we were done because a 2 year old usually doesn't lie still - unless he is a professional DVD watcher.  I will never again underestimate the draw of nifty, pint-sized electronics!

So now we just play the waiting game.  Next week I will begin stalking the Pulmonary Clinic for the Echo results.  And finally, the new Nurses start on Sunday. Mission Accomplished.
