Not a bad question at all, unless the person asking squints their eyes, cocks their head ever so slightly and inquires "so then...whyyyyyyy do you blog?"
This conversation is usually preceded by at least one of the following questions:
"Do you do it for your family?" That's why I started, but No. They get enough of me.
"Do you do reviews and get cool products?" No. Although, there was that one time.
"Do you do giveaways?" No. But, I do enter and love to win.
and then the biggie,
"Do you get paid?" Not yet. {Anyone, anyone?}
"...so then whyyyyyyy do you blog?"
It's simple. I blog for Awareness.
Or should I say blog for "a rareness." I blog for causes and people I believe in.
Can you think of anything better, than to spend my free time {and I use that term loosely} connecting with a community of people who cherish my child and support me?

I blog so that people who might never have heard of Children's Craniofacial Association, The Global Genes Project or have thought to add a CPR app to their mobile phone will take notice. Ta-da! That's awareness.
So whether it's cute Christmas pictures, struggling with feeding therapy, complaining about H1N1 or someone rude...you see that, that right there, that's called awareness. This blog is riddled with it. I'm sneaky like that.
I'll be honest some days it feels as if I am pushing a boulder up a steep hill, but when I see this:

I know I made it happen. I know that for a brief moment I reached someone who believes in me, or in my cause. Either way it's a good feeling to know that someone is in my corner.
So okay you got me again, I blog to feel good. There I said it. Happy?
Thanks for peeking,

LOVE it. LOVE the whole blog. LOVE you. :-)
i blog because of the community feeling. i know people tell me there are predators out there and i am well aware of it but you know what there is a lot of good out there too and you are one of the good guys and i love peeking and i appreciate that you give me the privilege of seeing his sweet face.
It's actually a great question. I blog for sanity. And to feel connected to so many other people without having to have the same conversation over and over. To feel seen and heard and not alone. And, I guess, for awareness. I never thought about it that way...
Thanks for your funny, informative, heartfelt posts. They're great.

Not sure why I started...but one of the most rewarding things is when another NEHI momma finds our blog...and it helps. Priceless!

I blog so that I can find cool people like you and other moms who really get it. I also blog for the ones who give me that glazed over look when I tell them about Isaac's chromo disorder. It's a great awareness tool!
That twitter comment is awesome (and true)!
I blog for ME. I started doing it for family who live far away, so they could be in the loop. Then when I realized Chloe had problems, I thought I would try to help other people, so I blogged for them. But now, it's for ME. It feels good. It's therapeutic. It forces me to find the good. I get so much from the relationships I make with others through blogging. It's all about me, and I'm not afraid to say it.
I'm glad YOU blog. You really are amazing. Thanks for all you do!
